19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.

Victory also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
